Google Takes Off Chrome “Beta” Label

Google announced to release Chrome version 1.0 today saying "to take off the "beta" label" from its browser -- a big jump from the latest version 0.4.x released just a week ago. Like Mozilla's Firefox, Chrome is an open source browser but it makes use of Apple's WebKit HTML-rendering engine instead of Gecko renderer of Mozilla. Google Way: Running Native Code on the Web

A recent study conducted by Precursor LLC, a consulting firm bankrolled by major telecom companies, alleged that Google "is by far the largest user of Internet bandwidth," the company's share of bandwidth usage is rising rapidly, and it's bandwidth use "is orders of magnitude greater than its payment for its cost." New Beta Release for Google’s Chrome

In the next few days current users of Google's Chrome will automatically receive another beta update, version 0.4.154.25, but new users can immediately download the new release from Chrome official site now. Chris Evans, Google's Information Security Engineer and Tech Lead, has rejected the Gmail vulnerability rumored widely that would cause domain thieves recently. After investigation, it is found that the cause was a rather simple phishing scheme that fooled domain's owners to visit fake websites such as "google-hosts.com" and collected usernames/passwords of Gmail accounts. It was noticed today SearchWiki - new feature that allow users customizing Google search results at their own tastes - no longer appears.
